yana vlaeva ep launch
saturday 06/12/2025
Yana Vlaeva is a Bulgarian folk singer living in London, known for her expressive voice and deep connection to traditional song. After years performing in choirs across Europe, including the London Bulgarian Choir and Nusha Choir led by Neli Andreeva, she now sings solo, honouring the raw a cappella tradition and weaving in accompanied versions that bear her distinctive mark. Her debut EP Godini (Years) draws on the richness and depth of Bulgarian traditional music, offering an intimate encounter with ancestral sound and songs of love, loss, and resilience.
Join Yana for the launch of her debut EP Godini (Years) - an intimate evening of songs tracing the emotional landscapes of various Bulgarian folklore regions. The programme moves between raw a cappella tradition and delicate arrangements for voice, guitar, and piano, inviting the listener into the rich emotional textures of Bulgarian folklore through stories of love, longing, and resilience.
For this special night, Yana is joined by pianist Ned Cartwright, guest singers from the London Bulgarian Choir, and her sister Denny Vlaeva. Together they bring timeless Bulgarian song into a contemporary setting, creating a deeply personal and uplifting celebration of heritage, resilience, and the passing of years.

august cooke, phoebe massey + gan gemi
tuesday 09/12/2025
August Cooke is the solo project of London-based cellist George Cooke. His debut ep Like Rivers - featuring Mumbai saxophonist Shirish Malhotra and produced in Oxford by Felix Higginbottom - was played across BBC including by Gilles Peterson, who called him a ‘ great new talent ‘.
In the live set, the voice disappears within an imaginary sea, mirrored in waves of cello harmony, where questions are lost and reappear.
August will be joined in support of Phoebe Massey:
Phoebe Massey is an independent electronic experimental producer and performer who layers and collages sounds into otherworldly, emotionally charged landscapes. Singing since a young age, she harmonises and distorts her voice live, combining it with sounds from her synthesiser, drum machine and sampler to create her unique sound. Drawing upon her background in textile design, she treats sound like material—stitching memories and observations into a unique and original tapestry of sounds

Through insights from psychology and embodied awareness, we’ll explore new ways to care for these complex parts of ourselves in the initial lecture by Josh Fein-Brown
Part II: Music as Medicine
Viviana Caro, A scientist/sound artist reveals how sound becomes a bridge to our deepest selves. Learn how music rewires our brains, syncs with our heart rhythms, and creates profound physiological shifts that connect us to ourselves and each other.

lazy h
friday 19/12/2025
The Lazy H live band is an electronic jazz trio from London who are exploring new ways of improvisation with electronic instruments.
Their setup features a heavy electronic rhythm section: drum machines, modular synthesisers and AI generative sequences with traditional jazz elements such as the saxophone and rhodes piano. This combination creates a robust electronic club sound with the looseness and freedom of an improvised jazz ensemble.
The trio have been likened to Floating Points live, Vels Trio and Dorian Concept, however, frequently described as ‘truly original’ (Identification of Music), ‘brilliant and completely unique’ (Next Door Records) and ‘refreshingly genreless’ (Voices Radio) depicting their unique perspective; moving the sound of jazz and improvisation into a whole new space of electronic music.
